Just seven short years ago in 2004 Facebook came into all of our lives. Since that time it has become something that we use on a daily basis in order to keep up with friends, family, and more. It is hard to picture a life without the wonderful social media site. Today the site gets almost 800 billion page views in a month. It is difficult to see how much of a role Facebook does, in fact, play in our lives. With over 600 million users and 70% of businesses marketing on Facebook, it has truly changed how we learn about new ideas and products. There are all types of small businesses with pages on Facebook where they offer deals and savings, like K2 Sky Incense, cupcakeries, restaurants, and furniture outlets. No matter the type of business you can probably find it on Facebook.
Sharing with the people that we may not be physically close to is also different. Many families use Facebook as a tool to keep in touch. It is far better than the once a year letters or emails that used to be common in families because you can feel like you are a part of the action even while many miles away. Picture uploads, status updates, and messages are now how people know what their cousins or long lost high school buddies are up to. So, think about how you use Facebook. Are any of your friends your family or people you went to school with? More likely than not you have quite a few friends that you might not see on a regular basis, but might want to still keep in touch with.
