Google Chromebooks Available to Order on June 15, 2011

The world wide wait for Google’s new Chromebooks just got a lot shorter, thanks to the calendar turning from May 31 to June 1 today.  That means people only have to wait 14 more days to order one of the two models of Chromebooks that will be available for order from vendors Amazon.com and BestBuy (for the Samsung version only) starting on June 15, 2011.  According to Google’s promotional website for the Chromebook, “Chromebooks boot in 8 seconds and resume instantly. Your favorite websites load quickly and run smoothly, with full support for the latest web standards and Adobe® Flash®. In fact, Chromebooks are designed to get faster over time as updates are released.”   The fast booting is going to be one of the hot features of the new Chromebooks, giving an almost instant-on experience to users. cable bundles

The Chromebook also has always on Wi-Fi and 3G, and comes with 100Mb of free 3G data from Verizon Wireless per month.  Affordable plans for additional wireless data for the Chromebook can be purchased from Verizon Wireless, or any vendor of the user’s choice.

Reports of early availability of the Chromebook beginning today have come from various Internet users who are long standing holders of Google accounts.  With a special purchase opportunity from Gilt.com, some users have been invited to purchase the Samsung version of the Chromebook for $499, today.  It also comes with a limited edition sleeve.

Rumor still has it that students will be eligible to get the Chromebook by paying a small monthly fee of around $20 USD, which covers the lease of the hardware as well as use of Google’s Chrome OS.
